The Beginning of the Roll
Today I picked up a roll of film that I had developed. Its B&W shot with a borrowed Rollei. Here are frames 3, 5, and 8 from the roll.
This was a special roll for me. I began shooting this roll of film in January of 2007 and finished it last month. This Rollei was the first camera I ever used to make a picture. Sure, I'd had many camera's before this one and taken many snap shots in my life but I had never considered photography... never studied an image. This roll with this Rollei was the first time I ever really thought about photography. It was lent to me by someone I love who slowly and patiently taught me about reading, wrangling and dancing with light. He showed me books and how to study the masters.
So these images are special to me. They may not be great but they are the 3rd, 5th, and 8th images I ever took as a photographer.
